The first $10 million has been allocated to the Green Energy Company

On 27 February President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on measures to expand the use of renewable energy sources.

It was reported that during the last three years direct investments of $8 billion have been attracted in the energy sector. In particular, solar power stations have been launched in Navoi and Samarkand regions. This year 18 such stations are under construction. It was noted that due to this, the supply of electricity for households will increase by 50%.

By decision of the President of Uzbekistan of February 16 of this year adopted a large-scale program to accelerate the introduction of renewable energy sources. It was noted that the "Green Energy" company was established and the first 10 million dollars were allocated to it.

Under this program this year it is planned to install solar panels with a capacity of 1700 MW in the homes of entrepreneurs, social sphere and residents.

It is noted that solar panels with a capacity of 220 MW will be installed at public facilities and state institutions, 1300 MW at entrepreneurs, and 15 MW on the roofs of newly built apartment buildings.
