The first solar panels with efficiencies higher than 30 per cent

A team of researchers from the Netherlands has invented a solar panel with an efficiency of over 30 per cent. The technology, based on a combination of perovskite and silicon, is said to have helped them make the invitation.
"This breakthrough will help stimulate the development of solar energy worldwide and reduce dependence on fossil fuels," the researchers said.
The technology was presented at the 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC-8) in Milan, Italy.
It is noted that this project is the best in the world in terms of solar cell efficiency derived from many existing technologies and is another important milestone in the industry's adoption.
