The Foreign Ministry commented on the news of possible EU sanctions against Uzbekistan

The Foreign Ministry has not received any official information about the introduction of sanctions against Uzbekistan by the European Union. Daryo.uz was told this by the head of the Foreign Ministry's press service, Ahror Burkhanov.
"We have not received any official information. That's why we can't say anything about it yet," Ahror Burkhanov said.
It is noted that an investigation is currently underway.
"There is no information about the imposition of sanctions on the official website of the European Union, this news has not been confirmed yet. Therefore, we cannot react yet," he added.
As a reminder, we earlier reported that according to information provided by a foreign publication based on a secret document, the EU may impose trade sanctions on Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries that help Russia avoid sanctions.
Also yesterday, the EU special representative for sanctions, David O'Sullivan, said at a briefing in Bishkek that he planned to visit Uzbekistan for diplomatic talks.
