The French Interior Ministry has summed up the results of the second round of the presidential election

In the second round of the French presidential election, incumbent President Emmanuel Macron received 58.55% of the vote. Also, according to the French Interior Ministry, 41.45% of voters supported the candidate of the "National Association" Marine Le Pen.
The department noted that "because the data is rounded to one-hundredth, the final processing rate may be less than 100%. In any case, the French Constitutional Council is expected to announce the final results by the middle of the week".
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry said the turnout was 71.99%. However, 8.6% of the processed ballots turned out to be damaged or empty.
A day earlier, National Rally candidate Marine Le Pen conceded defeat in the French presidential election, but called the preliminary results of the second round of voting, announced after the polls closed, a success.
Incumbent President Emmanuel Macron addressed a victory speech to supporters at the Champ de Mars, highlighting France's turbulent years and historical events and promising that the republic would become a "great environmental power".
It should be reminded that the French TV channel BFMTV reported about Macron's victory in the French presidential election about an hour and a half before the announcement of the results of the voting. French citizens came out to protest the preliminary results of the election.
