The head coach and midfielder of the Uzbek national team was diagnosed with COVID-19

Srecko Katanec, the head coach of the Uzbek national football team, and midfielder Khozhimat Erkinov have contracted the coronavirus.

It is reported that head coach Srecko Katanec had to arrive from Slovenia for the meeting in Dubai. However, a pre-departure test depicted a positive result.
A member of the national team was also diagnosed with coronavirus. When the team arrived in Dubai, all members of the delegation took the PCR test.

Khozhimat Erkinov tested positive, according to the findings of his testing. As a consequence, he was quarantined in compliance with the established procedure.

At the end of the quarantine period, the player will retake the test, and based on the results, the next training session will be planned.
