The importance of further expansion of cooperation with the World Tourism Organization noted

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Secretary General of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili on November 7.
The agenda of the meeting included issues of expanding practical cooperation of our country with the United Nations agency.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan has been a member of the UNWTO since 1993. During the past period, important initiatives and joint programs have been implemented to reveal the huge potential of the industry and promote the tourism brand of Uzbekistan internationally. A regional office of the Silk Road Organization also operates in our country.
Partnership has visibly intensified in recent years. Preparations are underway to hold the 25th UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand in 2023.
During the conversation Zurab Pololikashvili highly appreciated the results of ongoing reforms on the development of modern tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan, including the creation of favorable conditions for business initiatives that contribute to the qualitative growth of external and domestic tourism.
An agreement was reached to adopt a road map to expand mutually beneficial cooperation between our country and the UNWTO, which will include measures to promote Uzbekistan's tourism brand, conduct effective information campaigns, train highly qualified personnel and implement other important projects.
