The information of the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee was heard

On September 16, 2021, the Antimonopoly Committee held a meeting of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on Budget and Economic Reforms.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee was informed about the results of the study of the competitive environment and the existing reserves for the development of entrepreneurship in the Kashkadarya region, as well as about the development of a program to improve competitiveness for consumers.

It was noted that as of January 1, 2021, there are 54.8 thousand business entities in the region, the number of which has increased by 17% over the year.

There are reserves for the development of entrepreneurship in such areas as the production of building materials, tourism, agriculture, and local industry. There are great opportunities for the development of industry, in particular, the cotton and textile industry, the cultivation and processing of fruit and vegetable products, the production of building materials.

At the meeting, along with the work done, problems and shortcomings were voiced. In particular, in an area with a large industrial potential, a high proportion of imported goods remains. The need of the domestic market for domestic products has not been studied. Rational use of the capabilities of enterprises for the production of ready-made clothing and leather has not been established.

Another feature. In the service sector, despite the need of the population for 758 repair services, 1,078 veterinary services and butcher shops, 1,214 baths and services for sewing (repairing) shoes, 1,319 services for dry cleaning and repair of household appliances, 938 hairdressers and beauty salons, business entities are not involved in these areas.

At the meeting, the relevant decision of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms was adopted, providing recommendations for eliminating the shortcomings identified in the field.
