The International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September

The United Nations General Assembly has declared this day as a day to promote the ideals of peace among all nations and all peoples.
The Day of Peace was established by General Assembly resolution No. 36/67 in 1981. The Day was formerly celebrated on the third Tuesday in September. Twenty years later, in 2001, the General Assembly unanimously adopted resolution 55/282. Since 2002, the International Day has been observed every year on 21 September.
This date is celebrated as a day of international peace and non-violence.
On that day, the UN called on countries around the world to cease all hostilities and conduct social awareness campaigns.
