The law on the restriction of alcohol and tobacco has been approved

At the thirty-sixth plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On limiting the distribution and use of alcohol and tobacco products" was discussed. Restrictions are being introduced on the sale of alcohol and tobacco products, as well as devices for the use of tobacco and nicotine.

As you know, this law was rejected by senators at the twenty-seventh plenary session of the Senate, and the chambers of the Oliy Majlis formed a conciliation commission to resolve disagreements arising under this law.

The law was approved by the Legislative Chamber taking into account the opinions, suggestions and objections expressed by the members of the conciliation commission. It is expected that the law will introduce a number of innovations limiting the distribution and use of alcohol and tobacco products.

Of particular importance is the state guarantee of limiting the distribution and use of alcohol and tobacco products, prevention of their negative impact.

Therefore, it is prohibited to sell alcohol and tobacco products, devices for the use of tobacco and nicotine to persons under the age of twenty-one, their sale by these persons, as well as the involvement of these persons in the process of consuming alcohol and tobacco products. This age limit has been increased in comparison with the current law.

A number of bodies carrying out activities to restrict the distribution and use of alcohol and tobacco products are also expanding, and their powers in this area are clearly defined.
