The lighting system is less used in Serie A games

Due to the energy crisis on the European continent, it was decided that the lighting system (projector) will be used less frequently in the Italy A Series matches.

Electricity prices in many European countries have soared this year due to the energy crisis, which has been driven up by, among other things, cuts in gas supplies from Russia. The price of electricity has increased 10 times compared to last year.

For this reason, Serie A has announced that it will reduce the use of floodlights in stadiums. From the 5th round, the lighting system is not used for more than 4 hours.

The floodlights will be turned on 60 minutes before the daytime games instead of 90 minutes. This would be necessary to adjust the VAR system.

At the moment, studies are being conducted to improve the energy efficiency of Italian stadiums.
