The name of the surface stations of the Tashkent metro will be put to the vote

The Khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent invited residents to vote to name 19 new metro stations that have been opened in recent years. The process will last from 4 to 18 April.
The Department of Digital Development under the Khokimiyat accepts proposals for naming geographical objects - streets, squares, metro stations through the geonom.tashkent.uz platform developed by them. The site contains proposals for the name of 19 stations of the surface metro line on the Druzhba-Koylyk and Almazar-Sergeli routes.
The khokimiyat suggested that the residents of the capital take part in this process by voting in order to study the opinion of local residents when preparing proposals. The voting process will continue from 4 to 18 April.
The results of voting on the names of metro stations are submitted to the Ministry of Transport for the preparation of relevant proposals and their subsequent submission to the Cabinet of Ministers for a decision.
“A working group under the Ministry of Transport, consisting of prominent scientists, historians, philologists, toponymists and other industry experts, as well as media representatives, bloggers, based on the requirements of the Law “On the Names of Geographical Objects” and in accordance with the established rules for writing toponyms in the state language, chose the most suitable name for each station from the proposals received," the message says.
