The next SCO Women's Forum was held in Tashkent

On August 18-19 of this year, the next Women's Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in Tashkent. 8 member states of the organization, namely Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, took part in it directly, and the leading women of India and China participated online.

The Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, opened the forum with an introduction, saying that the SCO has traveled a long evolutionary path over the past 21 years, has shown itself as an effective structure in the issues of ensuring security and achieving sustainable economic development in the region, and the role and place of the organization in the international arena is increasing.

Due to the initiatives of the governments of the SCO member states, the active participation of women's movements and organizations, the opportunities for women's cooperation within the SCO have expanded in recent years. Their active communication, including the SCO Women's Forum, was launched.

At the event, it was noted that in the following years, women's equal rights, full participation in solving political and socio-economic problems are considered an important condition for the economic development of countries and the democratization and stability of society in SCO member states.

In recent years, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, efforts in this regard have intensified in Uzbekistan. In particular, the issue of gender equality in the country has risen to the level of state policy.

The work in this direction was organized in all areas based on the strict principle that "No woman is left out of the attention of the state and society".
