The nursing training system will be updated

A new school for training nurses will be established with foreign partners on the basis of international best practices.

Shavkat Mirziyoev:

"When we think of nurses, we mean only medical professionals who know how to inject, but in developed countries, the level of knowledge, skills and responsibilities of midwives is no less than that of doctors. There is a shortage of doctors in the system.

For example, 20,000 young people will graduate from medical colleges and technical schools this year, and 34,000 in 2023. Where do we use them? The need for midwives in the industry averages about 10,000 a year.

To address this issue last year, we decided to outsource 25 of the more than 60 functions of family physicians to nurses, and to revise their training system.

However, the quality of training of midwives has not changed, as 11 medical universities and 27 medical colleges and 47 technical colleges have been operating separately. Therefore, the system of training secondary medical staff will be reconsidered and medical colleges and technical schools will be transformed.

At the same time, a new school for training nurses based on international best practices will be established with foreign partners. Simply put, an important post-surgical process, the training of qualified nurses who can perform all the treatment procedures for the patient's "recovery" (intensive care and rehabilitation).

Now, all medical colleges and technical schools will be attached to higher education institutions. Universities are directly responsible for the quality of education and practice.
