The President got acquainted with the creative work in Tashkent

Sergeli district

The President visited Sergeli district, Yangikhaet district and residential complexes near the Chirchik River.

A bridge and a new road are being built along Kipchak Street in the Sergeli district. Currently, cars moving from the Sergeli district to the city center and back mainly use one road – Yangi Sergeli Street. In this regard, there are always traffic jams here.

The new bridge and road will have a capacity of up to 12 thousand cars per hour. As a result, the traffic congestion in the Sergeli district will decrease by 50 percent, the travel time will be reduced by 20-25 minutes. The President, having familiarized himself with these works, approved them.

The company produces more than 172 types of medicines belonging to more than 20 pharmacological groups. More than 60 million units of medicines are produced annually, of which 25 million units are exported to other countries. The President got acquainted with the activities of the enterprise.

Sakhovat Mahalla in Sergeli district

Previously, the mahalla was in a deplorable state. This year, within the framework of the "Obod Mahalla" program, the territory of the mahalla was completely landscaped. The mahalla guzar, the Sakhovat Park and shops were built. Sidewalks have been put in order, playgrounds and a parking lot have been equipped. Also, a project worth 5 billion soums is being implemented in the mahalla to provide employment for unemployed women and youth.

Residential complexes near the Chirchik River

The section of the river passing through Tashkent is 16 kilometers. It is planned to narrow the riverbed on this site and build various infrastructure facilities.

This project includes 4 stages:
In the first one, a 5-kilometer segment between Akhangaran and Bektemir streets will be put in order. As a result, an area of more than 34 hectares will appear;
In the second, another 5 kilometers will be narrowed;
In the third and fourth, 3 kilometers of the riverbed will be narrowed.

A total of 210 hectares of additional land will be opened as a result of these works. The territory will be landscaped, recreation areas, walking paths and local roads will be built. It is also planned to build modern housing, production and service facilities.

At the end of reviewing all the works, the President assessed the situation as follows:
— This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the independence of our native Uzbekistan. We should celebrate this holiday with high spirits and with great results. We should find new facets, new opportunities, so that the people are satisfied.
