The President of Azerbaijan received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkish States

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Baghdad Amreyev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkish States (TDT) on May 24, 2022.
The Secretary-General briefed the President on the implementation of the historic decisions taken by the Presidents especially in the areas of economy and trade, customs, IT and transport during the Istanbul Summit held on November 12, 2021.
The Secretary General and the Ministers in charge of Tourism held today 7th meeting. He shared the results of his meeting and the declaration of Shamahı city as the “Tourism Capital of the Turkish World” with the President.
B. Amreyev informed the President of Azerbaijan about the latest state of negotiations on the establishment of the Turkish Investment Fund Agreement and the activities planned by TDT in Azerbaijan in 2022.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that TDT has entered a new stage in the direction of expanding the areas of cooperation between Member and Observer States, strengthening multilateral relations and deepening the integration processes.
President Aliyev emphasizing the current instability and difficult conditions in the Eurasia region underlined the importance of advancing close and active cooperation between Turkish states. He especially emphasized commitments such as the simplification of transport and transit procedures to facilitate the movement of goods along the Trans-Hazar International Corridor (Middle Corridor) and the use of new mechanisms within this framework.
The Secretary-General expressed his gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev for his valuable contributions to strengthening the unity and solidarity of the Turkish World.
