The president of Uzbekistan called for a comprehensive international cooperation in achieving Sustainable Development Goals

On June 24, president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the invitation of the president of the people's Republic of China Xi Jinping took part in a high-level dialogue on Global development issues in the form of “BRICS Plus”.

Heads of state and government from 18 countries of the world attended the last online forum chaired by the Chinese side. In addition to the leaders of Uzbekistan and China, President Alberto Fernandez of Argentina, President of Indonesia Joko Vidodo, President of the Republic of South Africa Siril Ramaphosa, President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Iran Ibragim Raisi, President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokaev, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, Vice President of Brazil Hamilton Mourao, as well as heads of governments

The issues of multilateral cooperation on security and stability, trade and investment, “green” economy, high technologies and innovations, digitization, transport and logistics, ecology, expansion of practical partnership in the humanitarian sphere were considered.

In his speech, the president of Uzbekistan noted that the dialogue in the form of “BRICS Plus” is of particular importance as a necessary platform for inclusive partnership in promoting the agenda of Sustainable Development.

It was noted that today the world is living in a period of deep transformation, which is undergoing a number of dangerous processes - international tension is growing and signs of a systemic economic crisis are showing.

Consistent with the implementation of reforms on the principle of “Human interests - above all”, the majority of the participants focused on the fact that New Uzbekistan is open to large-scale cooperation in such conditions, including partnership in the form of “South-South”.
