Italy's economy minister fears China

Italy must be increasingly cautious in its trade relations with China, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Friday, pointing to Rome's cooperation under Beijing's " The Belt and Road Initiative".
“The geopolitical context and what I understand has led to a more cautious approach to China than before,” the minister said at an International Monetary Fund meeting in Washington.
In 2019, Italy became the first major industrialized country to join a multinational project initiative to expand the Chinese trade route.
Before her election last year, Georgia Meloni said that she didn't like China's invasion of Italy or Europe.
