The Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for the warm welcome

As reported, the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, who visited Samarkand to participate in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Shahbaz Sharif thanked Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and humanitarian assistance provided to victims of floods in Pakistan. Pakistan stressed its interest in strengthening a multifaceted strategic partnership with our country.

The leaders considered in detail the issues of cooperation in the bilateral, first of all, trade-economic, investment and transport-transit spheres.

It was noted with pleasure that the indicators of mutual trade are growing. Last year, they increased by 47%, and from the beginning of this year by another 10%. The number of joint ventures has reached 200.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of expanding cooperation in the field of Transport and logistics. The importance of accelerating the transafgan railway project, eliminating barriers to trade, creating favorable conditions for the mutual supply of goods was noted and topical issues of international and regional significance were discussed.
