The program of development of trade-economic cooperation and industrial cooperation is accepted

The talks between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimukhamedov continued in an expanded format with the participation of the official delegations of the two countries.
During the talks, it was emphasized that the unity of our historical roots and religion, common language, culture and traditions serve as a solid basis of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan cooperation.
"We accept the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan as a clear confirmation that the centuries-old friendship and good-neighborly ties between our peoples are unbreakable, and the desire to strengthen bilateral relations continues," said the leader of our country.
The parties highly appreciated that the relations in the chemical industry have risen to the level of strategic partnership. It is planned to expand cooperation in the automotive industry, electrical engineering, textiles and pharmaceuticals, food industry and agriculture.
For this purpose, a medium-term program for the development of trade and economic cooperation and industrial cooperation is adopted. In addition, a joint project office will be established to promote the most promising projects.
Great attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the field of transport. Last year, the volume of cargo transportation increased by 17%, and this trend continues this year.The parties expressed their interest in creating favorable conditions for effective use of the unique transit potential of the countries of the region, including providing mutual benefits and discounts for cargo transportation.
The heads of state, while focusing on cooperation in the field of water and energy, noted that the intergovernmental commission on water management issues is working successfully. Today, the President noted with pleasure the signing of the historically important Amudarya agreement, which will serve the rational use of the water resources of the region.
