The Senate received reports from ambassadors

On October 14, at an expanded session of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism, the reports of Uzbekistan ambassadors to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait and Israel were heard.
The session was attended by senators, members of local Kengash (Councils of People's Deputies), heads of relevant ministries and agencies, public companies, representatives of local executive authorities and the media.
The heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan presented reports on their work aimed at developing bilateral relations with foreign countries, including the implementation of specific projects aimed at attracting direct investments, expanding exports and increasing tourist flow to the regions of Uzbekistan.
During the open and substantive discussion the whole range of issues and priorities of the diplomatic missions were considered, a critical assessment of their activities was given, as well as the systemic shortcomings in promoting the economic interests of the republic abroad were pointed out.
Particular attention was paid to the problems in the implementation of the investment projects initiated by the embassies in the regions of the country.
The senators noted the certain work done by the embassies in the areas of political, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. At the same time, the lack of practical results in the work of heads of diplomatic missions in the direction of economic diplomacy was criticized.
