The spiritual capital of the Turkic world. Turkestan becomes a cultural center

On May 28, 2021, the international conference "Turkestan: the Spiritual Capital of the Turkic World"was held in the city of Turkestan. The event was organized by the Turkic Academy and the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmet Yassavi.


The opening speech at the conference was delivered by Mr. Darkhan Kadyrali, President of the Turkic Academy, who emphasized the historical and modern significance and importance of Turkestan, both for Kazakhstan and for all Turkic countries.


Omer Kojaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council, informed about the cooperation platforms established by the Turkic Council to bring the deep-rooted relations between the Turkic states to a higher level.


Omer Kojaman said that in the coming period, individual and joint investments of the Turkic states in Turkestan will begin, and at the suggestion of the President of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Turkic Council will start working on the creation of a "Special Economic Zone", which will expand the large economic, trade and investment potential of Turkestan for the benefit of the Turkic states.


During the conference, the guests also visited the historical and natural beauty of the city of Turkestan and the grave of its spiritual treasure Khoja Ahmet Yassavi.
