The surfaces of the Moon and Earth in pictures

According to the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, South Korea's Danuri orbiter has taken black-and-white pictures of the Moon and Earth's surface. The images were reportedly taken between December 24, 2022, and January 1, 2023, within 120 kilometres of the moon.

"The images will be used to identify possible lunar landing sites in 2032," the report said.

It is noted that the Danuri orbiter will make a revolution around the moon every two hours. It was launched to the moon using a SpaceX rocket in the US in August 2022. It is also reported that the orbiter will begin its scientific mission in 2023.
