The Taliban allowed universities to reopen

Afghan Minister of Higher Education under the Taliban Abdul Baki Haqqani has announced that classes at Afghan universities have resumed.

He clarified that in areas with hot climates, the study process will begin on February 2, 2022, and in areas with cold climates, the learning process will resume on February 26.

Each university will have exams before the new semester. There was no official word on whether the girls would be allowed to attend classes.

Classes in Afghan universities and schools were suspended in late August 2021 after the Taliban seized power in the country. In mid-September, small schools reopened, but only boys and male teachers were allowed to come. The Taliban later promised to return the girls to schools, but that would require separate classes in schools.
