The United States and Britain have announced new sanctions against Russia

The White House has announced a ban on new investment in the Russian economy, as well as "completely blocking" sanctions against two Russian banks - Sberbank and Alfa-Bank.

That means freezing their assets related to the U.S. financial system.

Americans are also prohibited from doing business with them. However, the sanctions do not affect banking operations related to payment for energy supplies from Russia.

According to reports, Sberbank has already announced that it will continue to operate as before. Restrictions have no effect on service to Russians. The system is already adapted to sanctions, and experience and resources allow it to work successfully in any environment.

The same situation was confirmed by Alfa-Bank. It is said that the ruble is in good condition. According to the Moscow Stock Exchange, the Russian currency continues to strengthen after reports from Washington.

Britain has also updated its sanctions list: it has reportedly added eight more Russian businessmen, as well as the Moscow Credit Bank.
