The USA wants to cut Russia off completely from World Financial System

The United States is considering imposing sanctions that would "completely separate Russia from the Global Financial System," reported Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland at a hearing of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives.

"The measures that we are canvassing would essentially denote isolating Russia from the Global Financial System with all of the resulting consequences for Russian businesses and people in Russia, for their ability to work, travel, and trade" Nuland claimed, stressing that authorities are looking at the full range of possible measures.

Nuland also noted that the US expects Germany to suspend the Nord Stream 2 project in the event that Russia invades Ukraine.
