The winners of the Chess Olympiad received state awards from the President personally

Today, on August 30, an award ceremony was held in Koksaroy for Uzbeks who were awarded on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Independence. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in it and handed over their awards to the awarded Uzbeks.

The winner of the 44th World Chess Olympiad, the holder of the honorary title "Pride of Uzbekistan" Jakhongir Vakhidov, who took part in the ceremony, personally received the state award from the President.

We remind you that Jakhangir Vakhidov is a member of the national chess team of Uzbekistan. The men's national team of Uzbekistan played against the Netherlands in the decisive round and won with a score of 2.5:1.5. With this victory, the men's national team of Uzbekistan solved the issue of the gold medal and became Olympic champions for the first time in its history.
