The World Bank intends to provide a $ 3 billion US financial aid package to Ukraine

The World Bank is offering a $ 3 billion US aid package to Ukraine, and the International Monetary Fund is analyzing the country's emergency funding request.
“At the World Bank, we are preparing a $ 3 billion US aid package starting in the coming months with a $ 350 million US fast-paced budget support operation, which will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval this week. What is more, funds worth $ 200 million US will be used to support health and education”, said World Bank President David Malpas in a statement.
"Our institutions are working together to support Ukraine in the area of financing, and we are providing assistance as soon as possible. We are in constant contact with the government about crisis measures," said Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Managing Director, who says that consideration of the issue may be scheduled for next week.
In a statement, World Bank and IMF leaders expressed their condolences to the Ukrainians, noting that the economies of many countries are suffering as a result of the hostilities, as well as the sanctions imposed after they began.
