The world's first 3D-printed mosque will be built in Dubai by 2025

Dubai's Islamic Affairs and Charity Authority has announced the construction of the world's first 3D-printed mosque. The mosque, which is expected to be completed in 2025 in the Bur Dubai area, is known to be 2,000 square metres in size.
"The use of 3D printing technology reduces the waste of construction materials. The project is eco-friendly. The mosque represents the vision of our wise leadership. The 3D-printed mosque is 30 per cent more expensive than building it conventionally, as it is the first mosque of its kind in the world. We expect a 30-year construction guarantee," says Al Shaybani, Director of Engineering at IACAD.
It is noted that it takes around four months to 3D print the mosque structure itself. In this case, three workers work with a robot printer, printing two square metres per hour. Once the 3D design of the facility is ready, it will take another 12 months to equip it with the necessary things and to finish it off.
