They are being forced to remain silent - Roskomnadzor decided to block Facebook

On March 4, Roskomnadzor decided to block access to Facebook due to "discrimination against the Russian media." Twitter was also banned.
According to the service, this was due to 26 cases of discrimination against the Russian media. Access to the accounts of the country's Zvezda TV channel, RIA Novosti news agency, Sputnik, Russia Today, as well as information resources Lenta.ru and Gazeta.ru is restricted.
Meta Vice President Nick Clegg said that "Soon millions of ordinary Russians will be cut off from verified information, deprived of the opportunity to communicate daily with family and friends, and are forced to remain silent."
“We will continue to take every effort to ensure that our services are available to the people so that they can express their opinions safely and act openly,” he noted.
Roskomnadzor began restricting access to Facebook on February 25 by slowing the traffic. The regulator has complained that Facebook has begun to label "unreliable" items posted by some Russian media outlets and has placed technical restrictions on search results to reduce the audience.
According to Roskomnadzor, access to Twitter in Russia is restricted "by the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office of February 24, 2022."
