«This is indeed a historic event« - President of Uzbekistan

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held a briefing for the media. The President noted that the talks once again confirmed the readiness of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to develop and enrich bilateral relations in every possible way, to give them a qualitatively new practical content.

The major outcome of the visit has been the signing of the Treaty of Alliance Relations, which fully meets the fundamental interests of our two fraternal nations. In addition, an Interstate Council at the level of heads of state is being formed.

"With this step, we have confirmed our willingness to actively support each other, to stand firmly shoulder to shoulder in the challenges of our times", Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed.

Another important adopted document was the Treaty on Demarcation of the Uzbek-Kazakh State Border, which completely completed the legal registration of the borders between the two brotherly countries.

"This is indeed a historic event. There is no doubt that our border has always been and will remain a border of true friendship and good neighbourliness," said the President of Uzbekistan.
