This year, exports of astrakhan and ferul products will reach $ 25 million US

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 2, 2020 "On measures to further develop silkworm breeding and astrakhan in the Republic of Uzbekistan", the Committee for Development of Silk and Wool Industry has been allotted 17 million 416 thousand hectares of pastures, where there are 53 karakul clusters.

These clusters specialize in the production of meat, wool, yarn, felt, hand-woven carpets, leather and feruls. This was announced at a press conference at the National Press Center on the activities of the Association for Pasture Development under the Committee for the Development of Silk and Wool Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to Erkin Haitov, chairman of the Pasture Development Association, in 2021, a total of $ 18.7 million US worth of astrakhan and ferul products were exported due to the expansion of production of quality and export-oriented products.

This year, the export volume will reach $ 25 million US by expanding the production of quality and export-oriented products and boosting the collection of raw materials. In addition, $ 318 million US will be invested in the launch of 154 new projects, modernization of existing enterprises and the establishment of ferul plantations.
