Topical issues of Uzbek-European cooperation

On September 6, 2022, the minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan The delegation led by Vladimir Norov met with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and security policy, vice-president of the European Commission Josep Borrell.
The dialogue discussed topical issues of Uzbek-European cooperation, their further activation and enrichment with practical content.
It was noted that there is significant potential for further expansion of interaction through the effective use of political, legal, trade-economic, financial and technical, especially institutional mechanisms of bilateral and interregional cooperation.
The parties applauded the successful completion of the negotiation process for an extended partnership and cooperation agreement, which was agreed (paraphrased) before the official signing in Brussels on July 6 of this year.
An agreement was also reached on thorough and high-quality preparation for the upcoming bilateral and multilateral events. The head of European diplomacy confirmed his readiness to personally participate in the “European Union-Central Asia” Ministerial Meeting, which will be held in Samarkand on November 17-18 of this year, as well as at the “European Union – Central Asia” interrelations: the global gate for Sustainable Development” Conference.
