Total length of the Tashkent subway is expected to be more than 70 kilometers

On June 6, 2022, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction of the second stage of the Tashkent elevated ring metro.
In the post-pandemic and current difficult economic times, very few countries allocate money for social projects. In Uzbekistan, good deeds aimed at making people's problems easier has not halted for a moment.
In 2020, the first stage of the Tashkent elevated ring subway was built from the “Do’stlik-2” to the “Qo’yliq” station. Currently, the second stage is underway from Qo’yliq to Sergeli station 5. To date, more than 200 piers have been installed and overpasses are being built.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the quality of this work.
"It was not tested before yet to introduce an elevated subway. We are creating a new history. Therefore, the resilience of the road should be reconsidered. Secondly, it is necessary to boost the number of modern, electronic services for people in the subway and stations,”- said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
There will be 7 stations in this 12-kilometer section of the metro. Travel time takes 13 minutes, which will have a capacity of about 40,000 passengers a day.
In turn, the need for private transport will be curtailed and gridlock will be eliminated. In particular, the number of cars per day on the route Qo’yliq - Sergeli will be abated to 32 thousand, while traffic will be reduced by 12%.
Generally, with the completion of this stage, the total length of the Tashkent metro is set to become more than 70 kilometers, which comprises 50 stations. The number of daily commuters on the subway reaches 600,000. 245 new jobs will be created.
Projects for the development of public transport in Tashkent and the increase in passenger traffic in the metro were presented.
