Transport System in Green City - Experience of the Republic of Korea

Within the framework of the joint project "Tashkent - Accelerating Investment Attractions in Low-Carbon Transport", implemented jointly by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Programme, a study tour of the Ministry of Transport staff to the Republic of Korea was organised to study the best foreign experience in the field of the "green city" transport systems.

Information was received on the experience of state support for the purchase of electric buses for "green" districts and public transport fleet, which is being implemented in Korean cities.

Also during the working visit the Transport Information Service (TOPIS) of the Seoul Metropolitan Administration was organised to learn about the operational management of the urban transport system, pilot projects of unmanned vehicles and real-time traffic and road data analysis capabilities.

In addition, consultative meetings were held with relevant experts from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, the Korea Transport Institute and the Seoul Metropolitan Administration.

During the visit, it was agreed to establish cooperation to fundamentally change the field of public transport in Tashkent, including the exchange of knowledge and experience in the introduction of green transport corridors.
