Turkish residents will be provided with free gas for one year

In August 2020, Turkey began extracting gas from the Sakarya field, located in the territorial waters of the Black Sea. On April 20, an event was held in the city of Zonguldak in connection with the delivery of the first cubic meter of fuel extracted from the mine to the coast.

The current leader of the country, Rajab Tayyip Erdoğan, who participated in the ceremony, announced that gas will be provided to every household for free for a month.

Also, the cost of natural gas, which is necessary for kitchen and hot water consumption, equal to an average of 25 cubic meters per month, is deducted from the calculations for one year.

"If we take into account that the summer months are coming, this means that many households will not pay for gas at all," added the President.

For information, the Sakarya gas field, found 175 kilometers from the Black Sea coast of Turkey, is located at a depth of 2100 meters and has an estimated reserve of 320 billion cubic meters.
