Twitter's ban on political advertising to be lifted

Ella Irwin, Twitter's head of trust and security, has announced that the social network Twitter will lift the ban on political advertising imposed by previous management in 2019.

"We believe that contextual advertising promotes public discussion of important topics. Today we are relaxing our policy on contextual advertising in the US. We also plan to expand permitted political advertising in the coming weeks," it noted on its Twitter page.

Also, according to the company, the social network now plans to align its advertising policy with the rules followed by television and other media.
