UN calls on countries around the world to provide 3 months of aid to Turkiye

In a meeting between Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay and UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths, Martin Griffiths said the UN will call on countries around the world to provide assistance to Turkiye within 3 months.
The vice president said the Turkish government has been coordinating efforts on the ground since the first minutes of the disaster.
He also informed that the country continues to provide full support to the residents of the disaster zone, including shelter and other needs.
For his part, Martin Griffiths noted that Turkiye is currently implementing the biggest search and rescue operations in the world and is distinguished by its management and organization skills, unlike other countries.
He also said that the UN will ask countries around the world to assist Turkiye within 3 months. The meeting also discussed the impact of earthquakes on neighbouring countries.
