UN General Assembly approved the resolution proposed by the President of Uzbekistan

A meeting of the 75th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations was held On May 18, 2021.


As part of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly in September 2020, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward an initiative to develop and adopt a resolution declaring the Aral Sea region a zone of environmental innovations and technologies.


60 states from different regions of the world became co-authors, including: Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Japan, Pakistan, Iran, India, Egypt, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Jordan, Oman, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Hungary, Romania, Algeria, Paraguay and others.


The document was approved by the UN member states unanimously.
