Under the draft of the new Constitution, one person cannot be elected (appointed) for more than two consecutive terms

The draft Constitutional Law of the Oliy Majlis is currently being discussed in a regular session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The draft constitutional law introduces the democratic provision that in respect of a number of positions of state authority, one and the same person may not be elected (appointed) to the post for more than two consecutive terms.
These are the posts of Speaker of the Legislative Chamber, President of the Senate, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of a regional, district, city Kengash of People's Deputies, Khokim, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Prosecutor General.
The meeting is expected to adopt a decision "On holding a referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
