Urgent tasks were set before the government and ministries

On December 30, under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a meeting was held on the issues of implementing administrative reforms, changing the structure of the government and the work system, the most important tasks for the socio-economic development of the country in 2023.
At the beginning of the meeting, based on administrative reforms, in accordance with presidential decrees and resolutions, newly appointed deputy prime ministers and ministers were announced to the posts. Topical issues in the areas in which they were responsible, responsibility and responsibility to our people were indicated.
Despite the fact that the year was complicated, it was noted that positive results were achieved in the economy. In particular, this year the volume of gross domestic product increased by more than 5 percent. The volume of exports grew by 14 percent and amounted to 19 billion dollars. 8 billion dollars of foreign direct investment have entered the economy.
In the social sphere, the goal of increasing employment and improving the standard of living remains a priority. This year, for the first time in our history, the amount of pensions and social benefits has reached a level not less than the minimum consumption costs. Large funds were directed to improve the infrastructure of the neighborhoods, to solve issues that have plagued the population for many years. Social assistance is being provided to more than 2 million low-income families. Educational and medical facilities, drinking water networks, roads are being built in the regions.
The meeting discussed the tasks of ensuring the sustainable growth of the economy even next year. In particular, the goal was set to achieve an increase of more than 5 percent in Industry, 3 percent in agriculture and more than 14 percent in the services sector.
The Ministry of economy and finance was instructed to improve the conditions for business and expand the tax base, increase the purchasing power of the population.
The Ministry of investment, industry and trade was assigned the task of increasing the efficiency in large sectors, studying the potential of districts where the industry did not go, and launching their “growth points”. It was noted that the economy should only be pushed forward by investment and exports, and next year the export volume should be increased from $ 23 billion. It was noted that more than 300 projects worth 8 billion dollars will be launched and 40 more new large projects will begin.
In the field of Transport, measures were established to improve passenger transportation services, develop a digital map of all roads, increase service on the roads.
Attention was also paid to issues of improving the quality of education, the development of Science, Tourism, Culture and sports. It was noted that it is necessary to eliminate corruption in health care and pharmaceuticals, to work systematically with patients in need of state care.
"Ministers must be sought, make changes in practice with the entire system. We all need to be simple and selfless, love the people and work hard. Our ultimate goal is to please our people," the president said.
At the meeting, which was held in a critical spirit, the shortcomings made this year were indicated and appropriate measures were established.
