US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs is visiting Uzbekistan

The modern architecture of Uzbek-American relations is based on common interests, not only in the economic sphere, but also in the fields of education, health, security and culture.

During his recent visit, Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu led the delegation to the First Meeting of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue. The political scientist stressed the support of the country's efforts to implement large-scale reforms, the importance of using the potential of mutual trade and attracting additional capital as soon as possible. The role of the Special Office for US Investment Support, established by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, was also highlighted.

Furthermore, Donald Lu praised reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at liberalizing the economy, promoting respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as developing democratic institutions and civil society, and noted the increased US support for these reforms.

The agenda of the current visit of the US Assistant Secretary of State to Uzbekistan is also very informative. The meetings and talks are expected to focus on the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries, from the digital economy, energy and investment to the development of health, culture and tourism.
