US has banned dollar supply to Russia

The US has prohibited the supply of dollar bills to Russia as part of another round of sanctions. In addition, exports of automobiles, clothing and jewelry were barred. Russia has also banned the import of salmon, seafood and alcohol, as well as diamonds.

U.S. President Joe Biden has signed a resolution forbidding the export, re-export, sale or delivery of dollar bills to Russia. The document was released on the White House website.

"Direct or indirect export, re-export of US dollar banknotes from the United States to the Government of the Russian Federation or any person in the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as by legal entities and individuals of the US, regardless of the location of the banknotes, sale or delivery is prohibited”, the Resolution reads.

The US has also forbidden the import of salmon, seafood, vodka and other alcoholic beverages, as well as diamonds, from Russia, Joe Biden said.

The G7 is also expected to bar Russia from receiving funding from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and other international financial institutions, according to a joint statement from the G7. They intend to abolish the status of the most favorable trade environment with Russia and deprive Russia of WHO membership.
