US Secretary of State comments on upcoming visit to Uzbekistan

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken flew to Kazakhstan today. He announced this on his Twitter page.
"Today I am embarking on a trip to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India. This will be my first trip as Secretary of State to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and I look forward to further developing our partnership with Central Asia. From there I will travel to India for the G20 meeting," the statement said.
During his visit to Tashkent, U.S. Diplomatic Envoy Anthony Blinken is reported to meet with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan.
In Astana, he will take part in a C5+1 ministerial meeting with representatives of all five states in the region to reaffirm the US commitment to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Central Asian countries, as well as cooperation with the region in finding solutions to common global challenges.
The C5+1 ministerial meeting will focus on strengthening economic, energy, environmental and security cooperation between the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
