USA: Uzbekistan is taking successful actions to eradicate human trafficking

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken presented the results of the report on human trafficking.
The above-mentioned Human Trafficking Report is an annual report issued by the Office of the US Department of State for Monitoring and Combating Human Trafficking.
The report, which was adopted in 2000, divides countries into 3 categories depending on their compliance with the standards set out in the Act on the Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Persons (TVPA):
The first category is countries that fully comply with the TVPA requirements.
The second category is countries that are trying to meet these conditions. And also an additional category (Watch List) represents countries for which special monitoring is being conducted. The «Watch List» category includes countries whose authorities do not fully comply with the minimum TVPA standards, but take significant actions in order to comply with them.
The third category is countries that do not meet the minimum TVPA standards and the authorities of these countries do not make significant efforts to change the situation.
The US State Department this year included Uzbekistan in the second category. Last year, Uzbekistan was in the «Watch List» group.
