Use of social networking platform TikTok could be banned in the US

Republican Senator Marco Rubio has reportedly introduced a bill in the US Congress to ban the Chinese social networking platform TikTok.
The reason given is that the Chinese Communist Party may use the social network to spy on Americans.
The bill also targets any social media applications controlled or influenced by China and Russia.
Marco Rubio said that under Chinese law, TikTok's parent company, Bytedance, could provide all information to the Chinese Communist Party.
Sources claim that in 2020, then US President Donald Trump wanted to ban TikTok and WeChat apps from being downloaded. He claimed that TikTok was transmitting Americans' sensitive information to China, thereby threatening the country's national security.
