Usmanov's $ 600 million yacht, which remains under sanctions, has been blocked
The German government has blocked Alisher Usmanov's $ 600 million US yacht “Dilbar” at a shipyard in Hamburg. The yacht was reportedly in the Hamburg shipyard of the German shipbuilding company “Blohm + Voss” for re-equipment.
German officials blocked the 512-foot yacht “Dilbar” two days after Usmanov came under EU sanctions over Russia's "military operation" in Ukraine, sources reported. The yacht has been modernizing in Hamburg since late October.
Alisher Usmanov purchased “Dilbar” in 2016 from Lurssen Shipyard for $ 600 million US. He ordered to built the yacht to order for 52 months, calling it "one of the most sophisticated yachts in terms of both size and technology."
It is the largest motor yacht in the world with a water permeability of 15,917 tons. The crew consists of 96 people. The yacht “Dilbar” has a large swimming pool, two helipads, a sauna, a beauty salon and a gym. The 12 suites on the yacht can accommodate 24 people.
On February 28, 2022, the EU imposed new personal sanctions on 26 Russians over Ukraine. Usmanov was listed for the first time. A representative of “Metalloinvest”, a company founded by the businessman, called the sanctions against Usmanov "stupid and unfair." Alisher Usmanov's fortune amounts at $ 18.4 billion US, according to Forbes in 2021.
Usmanov resigned as president of the International Fencing Federation following EU sanctions. The decision, he said, would remain in effect "until justice is restored." “On February 28, 2022, I became the target of EU sanctions. I consider this decision to be unfair, and the sanctions are false and baseless allegations that undermine my honor, integrity and business reputation," the FEI said in a statement.
