Uzbek delegation meets with Minister of Hajj and Umrah affairs

A delegation from Uzbekistan met with leaders of Hajj and Umrah ministry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah city on January 8.
The meeting was attended by Hajj and Umrah affairs minister Taufik bin Fauson al-Rabiya, advisor to the President of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Kamilov, chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Nuriddin Domla and chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs Sodikjon Toshboev. They discussed at a high level the prospects of mutual relations and issues of organizing the Hajj season in 2023.
During the meeting, Advisor to the President Muzaffar Kamilov spoke about the stages of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the organization of Hajj and Umrah events, the development of relations between the two countries in recent years, as well as the fact that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has invited the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the minister of two shrines, to visit Uzbekistan in August 2022 with a state visit.
He emphasised that his trip to Saudi Arabia helps raise cooperation relations to a higher level.
Muzaffar Kamilov also thanked Hajj and Umrah Minister Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabia for the invitation to the prestigious conference and warm reception, saying the main goal of the visit was to further improve cooperation relations.
The minister said that the introduction of visa-free system for citizens of Saudi Arabia to travel to Uzbekistan is a great relief, and noted that the broad promotion of these opportunities in Saudi Arabia will yield good results.
During the talks, it was stated that the construction of the Museum dedicated to the life and work of this great muhaddis in the Imam Bukhari complex in Samarkand region, as well as an innovative museum of sayings of our Prophet Muhammad (s.a.v.) in Medina city is well underway. For his part, the Minister said that he intended to attend the opening ceremony of this museum.
