Uzbek Foreign Ministry denies information on opening borders with Afghanistan

Foreign Ministry officials say that the spread of information about "Uzbekistan's readiness to open its borders to people fleeing the Taliban regime in Afghanistan" does not correspond to the truth.

In order to ensure security, the Uzbek-Afghan border is currently completely closed and land crossing through the Termez checkpoint is not carried out.

In the near future, the opening of the Termez checkpoint on the Uzbek-Afghan border is not planned.

Any attempts to cross the border, regardless of their reasons, will be suppressed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the message says.
