Uzbek-Indian military drills begin in India

As many as 45 soldiers of our country will travel to India in February-March 2023 to participate in the joint Uzbek-Indian exercise Friendship 2023.
The exercise will be held at the base of 14th Battalion Garhwal Rifles in the mountainous region of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The joint exercise will continue until March 5.
Military cooperation between the republics of Uzbekistan and India reached a new level in 2019, following the joint Uzbek-Indian exercise Friendship, first held at a combined arms training range in the Tashkent Military District.
This was followed in 2021 by a second such exercise at the Chaubatia training centre in Ranikhet province, Uttaranchal, India, to further strengthen military ties with India, planning and conducting combat operations, enabling the sharing of best practices.
