Uzbekistan allocated $ 2.5 million to fight COVID-19

USAID has allocated an additional $ 2.5 million to Uzbekistan, which will be spent on technical assistance in ensuring the quality of medicines, as well as to solve the problem of mistrust in vaccination.

Thus, the total direct contribution of the US government to support Uzbekistan's efforts to combat COVID-19 has exceeded $ 16 million.

“The number of fully vaccinated people in Uzbekistan is gradually growing. But the pandemic is far from over - the virus continues to spread throughout the country, and new variants pose an ongoing threat globally. Ending the pandemic is vital to keep everyone safe, save lives and restore the global economy, ”said Mikaela Meredith, USAID Mission Director in Uzbekistan.
